I know it's 3am and I should be sleeping but I am just so excited! I was so excited to see Twilight that I just couldn't wait until Friday night. That's right baby, the 12:01 am showing. Let's talk about long night. Not only did the movie start at 12:01am but we had to get there at 9:30pm just to stand in line. Good think I have great friends and a mom who love to hang out and be crazy. Even Joy who didn't think she'd like it that much was getting 'gitty'. Anywho, I'm like all the teenage girls waiting in line for hours to see the romance unfold on screen. The 'teenageness' only lasted a short while because then I was called out by two of the girls in my young women's group as the designated driver. Yup! That's right..."Sister Evans can we get a ride home?" Short lived 'youngness', but oh so much fun. So who's going with me to see it again???? I think I'll have to take Chris just so that he can roll his eyes and think he is married to the silliest wife ever!!!

Are people going crazy?????
The backlash is wild. I completely understand standing up for something you believe in and for advocating something you believe in! But when does it become OK to write hate letters, threaten people and resort to violence and vandalism????? I mean really what is this world coming to when you can't stand up for what you think is right without some nut job who thinks they are right coming after your church or your business or even after YOU!
This article is kinda near and dear only because Leatherby's was my first job. I worked at the Leatherby's on Arden for a couple of years and still remember the Leatherby family members working side by side with the employees on the busiest of Friday and Saturday nights. They are a great family with great values and I applaud them for contributing to a campaign they believe in. I am sad that there are people who feel they must attack another person's lively hood.
This is the article that ran on the channel 10 website. Oh and don't get me started on the liberal media who talks more about what's going on with the NO on 8 than YES on 8. I guess the vandalism and hate makes for better television. But a friend told me that on Sunday afternoon there were more than 1000 people at the Leatherby's on Arden showing there support for this local business.
"Way to go MOM! Thanks for showing your support and having lunch at Leatherby's in Citrus Heights last weekend!!!"

Customers also got an earful from yet another group of Proposition 8 protesters.
Protesters Amanda Booth and Erin Domingo, along with a handful of vocal supporters, said they wanted everyone who eats at Leatherby's to know that the family behind the business donated money to help pass Proposition 8.
"We're protesting Leatherby's because they contributed over $20,000 to the Yes on Prop 8 campaign," Booth said. "That money went toward defeating my equal rights."
"We just thought it would be nice to let people know where their money is going when they buy ice cream from Leatherby's," Domingo said.
Despite the turmoil outside, Leatherby's was packed Sunday, filled mostly with people who said they support the family-run business and Proposition 8.
"The people have spoken. We won," said customer Craig Abi-Nader. "The Supreme Court was wrong and they should end it there."
At one point, Dave Leatherby Jr. greeted the protesters and shook some of their hands. Leatherby said he doesn't have any animosity or hatred toward anyone.
"Our vote was not a vote of hate. It wasn't a vote against them," Leatherby said. "It was a vote to support something that we though was good. I have no animosity toward anyone."
Leatherby said since his family's donation has been made public, they've received threats and hate mail.
"Sending mail that said, 'We're going to put you out of business, you're hate mongers, you people are evil,'" Leatherby said. "That was startling."
Despite some harsh words, Sunday's protest was peaceful. Booth said she would not give up the fight for her rights any time soon.
"We just want to make people aware of what's going on in their neighborhoods and communities and that there are those people who don't support equal rights," Booth said.

"Move it. Move it!"
Last weekend Chris took the kids to see Madagascar 2 or as Anna calls it the "Move it, Move it" movie. Well they loved it. Especially Lukie. Not only will he dance on que when you start to sing the theme song but today at Walmart he found the lion and hippo stuffed animals and wouldn't put them down. It was hilarious, he just dragged them all around the store.
Happy Birthday Hill!
I know it's a bit late but I'm having a hard time getting anything done on time these days! So Saturday night Jodi, Hill and I went out to celebrate Hill's birthday. Of course we hit Nordstrom and then out to dinner. We love Nordstrom because we can hang out in the designer shoe and bag area and just try on to our hearts desire.
Dolce Bag. Hill had to really make herself put that bag back.

"OH! The shoes...I HEART shoes!!!" Someday these beauties will be mine!!!! They are so soft, it's like butter on your feet. OK don't know that...never had butter on my feet. But I'm sure this is what it would feel like.
Hey only $600. But wait they were 40% off. Jodi almost bought them!
Katie Spade, wish she was my BFF! No offense girls.
So instead of the shoes that were "much to expensive," she bought this very small and inconspicuous handbag. I won't even post how much this Burberry was!
In the end I ended up with UGG's, Hill with a super cute wallet and Jodi with a bag big enough to be stuffed and used as a pillow!
OH and dinner. We love Bandera's. Our waiter thought we were crazy for taking pictures of the food. But I just have to post it so I can always remember how good it was.

Apple Hill
Every year we make a trip up to Apple Hill as a family. I guess it's a tradition. We don't have many of those so now I can say we have one. Yeah! Side tracked...sorry!
The kids love to feed the fish and Anna loves to ride this ponies. My favorite part is the marshmallow submersed in caramel. I could eat fifty, maybe even a hundred!!! Here are the highlights.

Happy Halloween
We had a very relaxing Halloween. Well for me anyway. I hung out at home while my aunts and gramma came over and cooked dinner. It was wonderful.

And with that sleepy boy Halloween Night came to an end. Time to get in the Thanksgiving mood. Time to take out all the totes and put away the Halloween decorations and pull out the Thanksgiving decorations. This is by far Chirs favorite part of the Holidays. Pulling out totes and putting them away. He always tells me how much he LOVES to help. "Thanks for all the help!"
It really does feel like fall now...it rained all day yesterday! Finally!

We have a very sweet family in our ward and Lukie loves their son Brayden. Every time Lukie sees Brayden he runs to him and just puts his head on Braydens shoulder. Anyway the Shouses were so nice to watch Lukie for me the other night while I went to mutual. I decided to make them some caramel apples as a 'thank you.'

Preschool Halloween Party
Anna had a great time at her preschool party last week. So many opportunities to dress up this year. It really made Halloween fun for both Lukie and Anna.

Family Home Evening
Thank You to the Peterson's for inviting us over for Family Home Evening. You guys inspire us to be better at having FHE weekly!!!
In the picture you can see the kids decorating little cakes. This recipe is courtesy of my good friend Paula Dean. You know we both LOVE to use butter in cooking! Anyway they were very easy cakes and perfect for this time of year. You decorate and add any candy topping you like. Great way to make use of some of the TrickorTreat candy. The recipe calls for the cakes to be baked in removable bottom tart pans but I just used cupcake liners and a cupcake pan. Worked perfectly. Have fun and enjoy!
Ooey Gooey Pumpkin Cakes
Cake: 1 (18 1/4-ounce) package yellow cake mix 1 egg 8 tablespoons butter, melted
Filling: 1 (8-ounce) package cream cheese, softened 1 (15-ounce) can pumpkin 3 eggs 1 teaspoon vanilla extract 8 tablespoons butter, melted 1 (16-ounce) box powdered sugar 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon 1 teaspoon grated nutmeg Fresh whipped cream, for topping Candy for toppings (recommended: M and M's, Reese's pieces, crushed Snickers, Heath bars, mini chocolates, peanuts)
Special Equipment: 10 (5-inch) removable bottom tart pans
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
Cake:
Combine the cake mix, egg and butter and mix well with an electric mixer. Divide the mixture into 10-equally sized balls. Flatten each ball with the palm of your hand and gently press into the bottom of each tart pan.
Filling:
In a large bowl, beat the cream cheese and pumpkin until smooth with an electric mixer. Beat in eggs, vanilla and butter. Add the powdered sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and mix well. Spoon a scant 1/2-cup of the pumpkin mixture over cake batter in the tart pans and bake for about 40 minutes. Make sure not to over bake as the center should be a little gooey. Let cool in the pans for 10 minutes before removing.
Serve with fresh whipped cream and candy topping.
