Finally!

It's been four weeks since Livie was born and I FINALLY feel like I've had a productive day. Not sure where the energy has come from but I sure do welcome being productive.
First I braved target with all three children. It's funny my kids think Target is their own personal buffet. Today it was Teddy Grahams for Anna, Scooby Snack Grahams for Luke and lemon berry slurpees. I should be embarassed when I get to the register to pay and hand the cashier several open boxes of food, but I'm not.
Second was this:Don't know why I was craving layered Jello. I thought the cravings were suppose to end with the pregnancy but they didn't. This took so long to make but well worth it. Anna and I practically ate the whole pan.
I even made this for dinner. Dinner...GET OUT! I cooked, finally I was in the mood to cook. Yeah! for my family! Then I made cupcakes for dessert and decoration. It was a very productive day of cooking, baking, laundry, shopping, cleaning up around the house and packing for our weekend trip. Hopefully this is a start to a great summer.

Happy Birthday Anna!

Wow! How fast the last four years have gone. I feel like it was just yesterday that I was crying when I found out I was pregnant. I can still remember the joy and shock I felt as I looked at the pregnancy test. For a few short seconds I couldn't believe it. I took five tests just to make sure. Never did I imagine how much love and happiness that the sweet spirit growing inside my tummy would bring me. Those months of pregnancy seemed to go by so quickly. Probably because I was so excited to hold her and see her. So excited to finally be a mother. To have the one thing that I had prayed for for so many nights. Years to be exact. But finally at the right time we were blessed with our little Anna. Perfect from the very day she was born. Ten fingers, ten toes, perfectly round head, the cutest girly features, a soft innocent cry, perfectly bald, skin as soft as velvet, oh and her baby smell was tart at times but mostly sweet. She hardly cried and was always so happy and content. The only trouble she gave us was her gag reflex, ability to throw up on cue and her refusal to sleep through the night until she was ten months old. Other than that she was a so easy as a baby. Not much has changed in the past four years. Anna is the most pleasant child I know. She is smart and curious. She doesn't say much but she is always paying attention to what is going on around her. She loves, loves, loves to learn and create. She has always loved to read, color, paint, and play with playdough. If an activity involves her hands and her imagination she is happy. Anna's compassion always amazes me. She is constantly thinking of her family and friends. Now that she is a big sister she does her best to take care of Luke and Livie. Always getting me diapers or bottles or playing with Luke so I can focus on Livie. She understands when I need her help and she always does her part. It amazes me that a four year old can really recognize when I need help. I really don't know what I would do with out her. As I write this I recognize how dependent I am on my little girl and how much I truly love and admire her personality. Sometimes more than other because she is by no means perfect...she is still just a baby and shows me that side of her all to often. She can be stubborn and much to wise for her age. Sometimes answering me with the "why doesn't Luke have to clean up?' or "that's not fair" or "I won't help clean my room" or the latest "Mom, worry about yourself and not me!" Sometimes there is the occasional "Well tell me what the consequence will be if I don't do what you say" what three year old says that? She wants to know if she would rather take the consequence?! Needless to say I have to come up with good ones so that she will choose the chore rather than the consequence. Even though there are times my patience is tried I love being her mom. I love when she calls me mom, I love her stinky morning breath, I love our late night conversations in her bed, I love when she wants me to color with her, I love when she tells me about her day, I love when she asks if she can help me cook, I love when she asks me to snuggle her or tickle her or read her a bed time story, I love when she crawls into my bed in the middle of the night and steels my pillow and blanket, I love her infectious smile. I LOVE MY ANNA! Happy Fourth Birthday Sweet pea!

I think I LOVE this. I am a huge fan of Taylor Swifts "Love Story." The lyrics are so romantic and endearing. It reminds me of such a sweet innocent love. Then you put it to Cold Play and really I'm in LOVE! Then add the composer/father's reasoning behind why he created this arrangement and I'm SMITTEN! I wish I had talent to do something like this for my children.

The wait has begun. I will count down the days. 11.20.09
